Will Either Team Score More than Ten Points?
Yesterday, we discussed sort of a best case for scenario for Nebraska. Today, it might be the most likely scenario. Baylor hasn't scored more than ten points in three conference games. Nebraska was held to 10 or fewer in its past two games (both at home). Might we see another game, like Iowa State where each team has single digits on the scoreboard?
The over/unders haven't crept out yet, but the past few weeks might suggest that anything under 18 could be a winner (and the over/under number should be higher than that). Tease that with Baylor plus the points and you'd likely be safe as long as the total score is under 24 and the Huskers don't win by more than 18. Of course as the saying goes, bet with your head, not over it.
The Baylor offense pretty much went on the shelf with Robert Griffin. The Huskers could get back to scoring by simply eliminating turnovers and penalties. It's not hard to imagine the Huskers scoring 38 points last week if they'd eliminated the giveaways. Of course, it's those same takeaways that are the Bears best chance to get double digit points, short of a rash of injuries to the Husker defense.
Aside from fixing themselves, Nebraska can take some solace in the struggles of the Baylor defense. They haven't exactly shut people out. That's not to say it will be easy. But if Iowa State can score 24 on Baylor, maybe Nebraska could too.
That's what it's come to, aspiring to play like Iowa State.

Steve,
I hope NU scores at least 21 points. I learned along time ago never to bet with or against the Huskers you will always lose that being said if NU can hold onto the ball they should win by at least 10 points but then again I said that last week and I am still in shock over the loss to ISU. I just hope someone steps up on the offense and provide that needed spark to start a fire and a scoring explosion.

Got faith that Bo and Co. will get this thing turned around on offense. And frankly, if they do, then the Big XII North (and the Big XII?) is ours to win again…
...but first things first, let’s put the wheels back on the offense and drive it around the block a few times without problems in Waco. Then we can get back to the goals this team has (which are still within their grasp).

Strange going into a game against Baylor and wondering will we score 50 or 0? Or maybe just enough to win a close one? Recalibrating ones expectations with this team is difficult. The offense just needs to play within themselves and play to their strengths. Green needs to be running the zone read, its what he was brought here to do. A win this week is obviously critical. With my expectations tempered greatly I’m going to watch this week with a much more open mind and hope we start to see the offense emerge by playing sound football. Anything more is gravy. Anything less…I don’t even want to think about it.

Let’s hope so for the sake of any who will be taking the time to watch it on TV. . .

“The Huskers could get back to scoring by simply eliminating turnovers and penalties.”
Couldn’t be better said Mr. Hanway. . .

Just have the Huskers kick field goals every time they get to the 25 yard line. Put points on the board and leave it to the defense to handle the other side of the ball. Problem solved.

Orthodox…last week everytime we got in range, I kept saying just kick the field goal and take the lead. I said it half jokingly, but as the game went on the better the idea looked. I didn’t realize how prolific the idea was until the final score was 9-7.

What really made me sad last Saturday was on our last two possessions, even though all we needed was a FG to take the lead I had absoultely no confidence in Zac or our offense to get us in a position to attempt one.

I’d sweetie to face that too!
