Week 2 Picks
Nebraska covered the massive spread against Western Kentucky last week. But with a line as high as 28.5 against a team as good as Idaho, that's expecting too much. The Huskers should win, but not by more than four touchdowns. In other action...
Early Games
Look for Mississippi State to pull the upset over Auburn on Thursday, straight up. But look for West Virginia to beat Marshall by at least two touchdowns on Friday.
Big 12
Georgia Tech should cover two touchdowns at Kansas. Florida State should break Oklahoma's winning streak, so getting 8.5 makes it an even juicier pick. Iowa will beat visiting Iowa State but not by two touchdowns. Colorado won't win at Cal, but should keep it within 9 points. Missouri should run away from McNeese State (no line). Oklahoma State should cover the two touchdowns against Troy in Stillwater. Baylor won't beat Buffalo by 17, even in Waco. Four touchdowns is about the right margin for Texas to beat visiting Wyoming so watch that line if it moves from 29. Texas A&M shouldn't beat Louisiana Tech by three touchdowns, two is more like it. Kansas State will crush Missouri State (no line). Texas Tech won't win by 25 at New Mexico.
Big 10
This week, some of the big national games happen in the Big 10. Ohio State should cover the ten points over Miami in Columbus. Look for Michigan to pull the upset at Notre Dame. Alabama is two touchdowns better than visiting Penn State. Wisconsin will win big over San Jose State, but 38 points is too big a spread. Likewise, the Spartans will down Florida Atlantic but not by more than four touchdowns. The rest of the Big Ten will handle their cupcakes (which is why there are no other games with betting lines). Indiana takes the week off.
Of Note
Washington should eke out a victory at home over Syracuse, but not by thirteen points. Of course, these picks are all for entertainment purposes only.
9/9/2010
Hmm, personally I like both Baylor and Texas Tech to cover this week. Buffalo is bad. New Mexico got waxed last week. Can’t believe I’m backing the Big 12 South. Oh well.
We agree in our belief that Michigan is better than Notre Dame.
