The Weekly Buzz

There are so many interesting games happening, that this week's buzz is only going to cover what you should watch on Saturday. With the Huskers being a night game and all, you'll be able to check these out at your favorite beverage and food-providing establishment.

Virginia Tech @ Nebraska » This is by far the game of the week for myself and many others. In terms of seeing exactly what a team is made of, this ranks pretty high in importance. To get ranked, you have to play well, in prime time, on a national scale. As I predicted in another thread, I think we see a game that is still undecided going into the second half, but the Huskers should pull ahead to a 27-17 win.

TCU @ Oklahoma » This should be fun to watch for about a quarter. I've read articles and heard news that hypes up the Horned Frogs, but it shouldn't be close in the end. Blow out a ranked opponent and the Sooners could be seeing the Number 1 spot unless the ESPN propaganda of USC being the "best college football team ever" continues to brainwash the voters. Sooners win 41-23.

Colorado @ Florida State » The Buffs are going to try and head into the season 4-0 for the first time in ten years. Tough game to try and do it. Defense will make this game happen, and if someone can score on special teams or a pick six, well that team will probably win. Much to my chagrin, Colorado 17-13.

Arkansas @ Texas » Texas should roll this one up pretty quickly, but if they don't get off to a fast start, the Razorback just might be gritty enough to make a game out of it into the second half. They are notorious for putting up a big fight the last few times they've come into town. Texas wins 35-27 unless Arkansas eliminates the mental mistakes.

Army @ Texas A&M » Just how bad are the Aggies with Sherman in charge? We should know soon. If A&M does anything but blow this team away, Baylor won't be sitting on the bottom of the Big 12 south heap. I say Aggies start the season 2-2 with a 20-7 victory. Hello Baylor movin' on up!

Louisiana-Lafayette @ Kansas State » If Ron Prince is KSU's Bill Callahan, then this game is the Wildcat's Ball State. The Cats can't stop the run and the Ragin' Cajuns pound the ball like they're living in the 90's. Prince sounds like he's dividing his team, forcing defense to run sprints at 3 am right off the plane after their loss last week. Offensive players didn't even know about it until the media started asking questions about their late night runs. Wildcats should get a wake up call with a 38-35 win. Will they answer the call? Did Nebraska last year?

Guess I should have checked the USC game before posting.  Probably not the best college football team ever if you lose to an unranked conference opponent.  We’ll see if Georgia or Oklahoma comes out on top of the pile next week.
