The Weekly Buzz
This week in Husker Buzz: Watson moving upstairs, Christensen's life-changing week, former Husker game planning for this weekend, and congratulations are in order.
» Shawn Watson is moving to the press box. Watson believes that as offensive coordinator, he can view the game and better analyze the situation from up there. I don't think it's a bad idea, but I don't know if his being on the sideline would cause any positive benefit to the players or not. The "fire-up" coaches are already down there getting players ready to roll, no need to complicate things with another voice yelling on the sidelines.
» Former Husker quarterback Mike Grant has been game-planning against the Husker for many years. He thought he was getting away from it when he moved to the receivers coach role at Western Michigan, but was surprised to see the 2008 schedule. He can tell his players what it may be like to play in that atmosphere, but I don't think he'll be able to fully prepare them for the shock that they will be witness to in Memorial Stadium.
» Andy Christensen's serious troubles are finally moving to trial this week. The alleged crime is a terrible offense and obviously is not tolerated. I believe that Bo Pelini is waiting for the outcome of this trial in order to make a final decision on his status with the team. No matter what happens, let's hope that justice will be served.
» Congratulations to Priscilla Lopes-Schliep for winning the bronze in the 100 meter hurdles! It was a very tight race that had most of the hurdlers packed together until the last few surges. The Canadian track athlete was barely edged out of the silver by hundredths of a second.
