The Weekly Buzz
Of all the stories going on this week, I think there's only one piece of information that's on everyone's minds. The Huskers play this week! If most of this stuff happens in the middle of the season, it would be described as "mundane". But because it's the first week of the football season, it's a big deal right now.
Depth Chart released this week » Now normally, I like to find other sources out there on the interwebs, but I couldn't pass up on this expert analysis by Darren. This week's depth chart only tells us a few things are certain in terms of positions at this point. By the time Virginia Tech roles around, I hope to see a few less "OR's" on that chart.
Decommitment season begins » Really big gets during the in season recruiting usually happen during the conference match ups. But I am always weary of guys who commit so early in the game. Anterrio Sloan is not the first decomit (see Keeston Terry), and he probably won't be the last as we start to build up a number of players with offers.
Suh deserves all the praise coming to him » This article from the Miami Herald couldn't capture any better how fans and coaches feel about him this year. Let's hope its not just hype or lip service, because Suh is poised to have a season reminiscent of the past great defensive linemen that have shined as Blackshirts.

Iowa State beat North Dakota Stste. I think a win says very little, but a loss would have introduced a whole new level of suck.
