Normally I have no problems ruling on uniform minutiae but I'm having some problems with the new placement of the TV numbers on the Huskers' jerseys. Do I like it or don't I? One one hand, the ever shortening sleeve makes the stripes look almost like a UCLA-stripe from afar. That's good. But the also shrinking numbers now seem like an afterthought. Where should we put these? How about the shoulder?
I think the one thing that's certain is that, as football jerseys become tanktops, there's no longer room for both. Personally, I'd keep the numbers and ditch the stripes. It looked good and clean on the throwbacks last year, but what say you?

Personally I would just ditch the shoulder numbers. It would create a cleaner look.

I say lose the stripes…on both the jersey and the pants. The no-stripes look is just cleaner and better, imo.
And, remember, there was a time in the mid 1990’s that NU didn’t wear stripes on their pants. Those teams somehow looked faster. Well, maybe because they were faster.
Either way, lose the stripes.

Hmmm. I guess I didn’t even realize we had stripes or numbers on the sleeves. Whatever.
My vote is to keep it as simple (plain) as possible and never go ‘flashy’.
Virginia Tech and Boise State both had new, flashy looks. That’s fine for them, but not for us. ...imo

I am so glad you brought this up. I hate the stripes on the jersey and pants both. I also noticed the stripes on the jerseys on some players resemble UCLA or more of an arch rather than the traditional horizontal stripes. Atleast they are better than that crap they came up with during the Jamaal Lord years…Those were awful!!

I can live without the pants stripe on the white pants, but I never liked the way it looked on the red.
As for the sleeves, I actually prefer a stripe to a number but these are truncated stripes. Just lines, really that are more of a hint at the stripes that used to wrap around the sleeve. Rather than imitate a stripe, might as well just go with a number in my opinion.

I’d like to have the D go back to the cut-off/rolled-up jerseys and intimidate the opponent with the “made by Dobson” abs. That was cool.

Keep the stripes on the pant. I don’t mind the stripes on the shoulder either. I would integrate the number within the stripe, but I’m not sure what the NCAA requirements are with this. And never mess with that helmet. I’m surprised the governor hasn’t requested the infamous connestoga wagon on the back yet because it’s stuck on every rendition of the license plate.
Still waiting on the Big 10 logo…

I say ditch the numbers and keep the stripes. Still the best unis in college football, IMO.
