Introducing Tom & Brandon
Our action news team is expanding. Today, I'm happy to announce that Brandon Vogel and Tom Cudd are joining the Big Red Network. Those names may be familiar to those of you who have been around here a while.
Brandon has been covering the Huskers (among other topics) at hiplainsdrifter.com for the past three years. And Tom is one of our first and most prolific commenters. You probably know him as Doombob.
Brandon Vogel
Brandon was raised in the shadows of the Hemingford Co-op grain elevators out on the high plains of Western Nebraska. From there he went east: Hastings, Omaha and ultimately Boston where he lives now and frequently petitions his cable provider to pick-up early season non-conference Nebraska games for pay-per-view. From 2006-2007 Brandon was a contributing writer for FoxSports.com. His work has also appeared on MSN.com, Bugs & Cranks and in BostonNow.
Tom Cudd
Tom is a 2004 Graduate of UNL who grew up in Omaha, NE. With a BS in Computer Engineering, computers are his life, but writing and Husker Football are his passions. He now lives in the Kansas City area where there are more Huskers than you think. They have a way of finding each other.
What you can expect
Now that we have a few more hands on deck, you can expect more great Husker coverage from us. We will be posting with greater frequency and from different angles. Hey, if gang tackling works for the Blackshirts, it should work for us, too.
We also have some new features in the works that Tom and Brandon will be leading up. Expect to hear more on that soon.

I’m miffed i didnt get selected for the job, i could use the extra $$$. The BRN staff told me I should go start my own website, but I’m pretty sure that wasnt a compliment….

The best Nebraska fan site has gotten 50% bigger and better!
The perspective you and your staff write with- that’s what sets this site apart, for me. For example, the Teafatiller post. I wanted to comment, but Steve had it way covered, for me. To hope for the best for him, is all I could gather.
A hunch, though.. possibly Tom and Brandon might serve up some edgy takes?
