D-Line Hoping to Turn Up Heat on Idaho

The Husker defensive line should be licking their chops this week.  Idaho's offensive line lost a 1st-round draft pick last year and a total of four starters.  In the first half of the game last week, the Vandals allowed North Platte native Nathan Enderle to get sacked four times.  If Nebraska can gain leverage against this large offensive line, they can stop the run first and turn up the pass rush pressure on the QB.  That will be the key in dominating this week's game.

Hitting and sacking Enderle is the #1 “key to success” for NU, no doubt. Of course defense starts with stopping the run. But, Idaho is not a run-first team. They go as Enderle goes. If he’s on the turf often, then NU is in great shape.

Success is one thing, but I want us to DOMINATE this game.  Dial up the pressure big time.  I want our D Line to scare offenses like seeing Martinez scamper about scared D-coordinators in the Big 12.

I was wondering if any body else noticed that our d-line was off the line of scrimage all most a yard….that could be the difference of a sack or not…I don’t think we were lined up that far back last year…

jim j, I noticed that too.  Thought it gave the offensive line too much momentum in the run blocking.
