Way, way, WAY too complicated. Some editors believe that since they have a wealth of visual special effects at their fingertips, they have to use them all. Spins, wipes, snap zooms, flash effects, back grounds that are tilted, dutched…they’re all here, with the result that the message is obscure, splintered and at times, even on a huge screen, simply hard to read. This should all play toward the push in to the tunnel door with simple cut aways to past greatness. This thing is an editor gone wild. Too bad!

They should just keep replaying the clip of Suh throwing McCoy…maybe over the Platte River, Downtown Lincoln, or even the state…that would be cool!

Where’s the rest of it ? seeing the players come out the doors and walk through the fans and on to the field was exciting but it wasn’t there.

I don’t know about all the technical stuff these other guys are writing about. I just keep replaying the part where Suh throws McCoy like a rag doll. I’ll never get tired of seeing that.
Regarding the technical stuff: this piece is, and always has been, about Nebraska football—its history and its heritage. It’s easy to come up with exciting material and super special effects in the years when crystal footballs and/or Heisman Trophy’s are claimed. It’s a lot harder to keep coming up with that kind of excitement during dry spells such as the years we experienced between Coach Osborne and Coach Pelini. Personally, I feel like we’re headed toward times when exciting Tunnel Walk material will be in abundance, again, and the technical guys can relax.

One more thing for Code Red and Red Bud: Alan Parsons Project’s Sirius is TRADITION. For me, the title fits—Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky… like what we all want the Cornhusker football team to be. Yes, it’s been played for many years. That’s the thing about TRADITION. 83,000 people (with the possible exception of the two of you) seem to like TRADITION.

History and Tradition is why good ol’ Nebraskans LOVE the Huskers. Its in our roots and our herritage, where not “band wagoners”. This song is like the bugle call at a horse race, it means the game is on and it will forever send chills down my body.

C’mon folks. The ending because Huskervision didn’t cut to the players coming out of the tunnel. This is the actual video that’s preproduced before they come to the field, which is why it ended on smoke.
