A Picture Worth 1000 Words
I'm not one to make excuses for myself or for anyone else. Nebraska's vaunted defensive front 4 needs to play better than it did against Kansas. But, I urge Husker fans to take a look at this picture from Saturday's game, snapped by the Omaha World Herald.

Doesn't that look like a hold to you? It does to me. And, I think it is worth 1000 words. But, I won't bore you with all 1000, just the following 78:
Many wise football coaches and fans will tell you that holding could almost be called on every play in football. That's not too much of an exaggeration, really. Now, consider that Kansas QB Adam Barmann dropped back to pass 54 times. And, not once was KU flagged for holding! That's a stunning stat. And, combined with this photograph, it makes me want to give Carriker and company a bit of a break in the glow of Monday's sunlight.

That story is right on the money, True!

Wow, that looks just like what the Nebraska wide receivers and defensive backs did all game.
Penalties for the entire game:
KU: 5-25
NU: 5-35
Don’t think this game had much to do with refereeing save the possible backwards lateral and possible touchback in OT. I’d say those cancel each other out.

I don’t think anyone is blaming the officials for the outcome of the game (see Darren’s first sentence). But, this photo is quite obviously a hold.
If you have photos of NU’s WRs and DBs in similarly compromising positions, please send us a link and we’ll give them equal time.
It is quite odd though that no holding penalties were called the entire game (on either side I believe).
