This is random, but it’s as good a place as any to post.  I was driving West out of KC to meet a friend in Topeka, and then kick it with a fellow Husker alum just past Manhattan when I saw a sign that was awesome.  Up on top of a sheer cliff was a billboard for the Kansas State Wildcats and their supporters.  This is obviously a difficult sign to get to, was worn a little bit, and probably can’t get changed very easily.  Red spray paint crossed out the K State Wildcat line and a huge red N was spray painted over the KSU Cat logo.  Now I’m not one to advocate the destruction or the vandalizing of private property, but this sign made my day.  The thought of one lone Husker fan scaling this rock face, two and a half hours into the heart of Kansas, just to spray a Big Red N onto a KSU billboard was almost too much to bear.  It brought a tear to my eye…

That’s funny. Too bad you didn’t snag a photo.

Pelini’s really changed things in Lincoln. Looking at the picture of your punter, I have to say that I like last years uniforms a lot better.

Driving into the middle of Kansas, you don’t really expect to see anything interesting enough to need a camera.  If it’s still there the next time I drive out that way - I’ll have my camera with me.  The friend I was visiting said that other buddies saw it a couple weeks before, so I guess it may be awhile before it comes down.  As for our “punter” - it makes me think of the high school of the town I live in.  The punter here could kick 70 yards, and he was also the kicker who made a 51 yarder during the season.  Did I mention he was also the best linebacker?  Why can’t we get guys like that!  He could punt the ball and knock down the returner too (which he had to do on occasion.  The best part is his awesome name - “Cruiser”.  Oh well, he kind of got overshadowed by Andrew Jones, TE who’s going to Mizzou next year.
