Stories about Texas A&M
What’s Scary About Texas A&M 6 comments
Saving the best for last perhaps before we turn our full attention to Western Kentucky, we now focus on the Aggies. You see predictions for the Huskers ranging from eight wins to twelve in the regular season. But one of the most common losses you'll see is the road game in College Station. Even people picking Nebraska to go 11-1, often pick A&M as the one loss. There are some reasons to buy into that line of thinking.
Aggie Fans are Bizarre 12 comments

It is no secret that the Aggies have some interesting traditions. From the collie graveyard to the pseudo-military caste system that is enforced among students, you can't spell crazy without A&M. If you needed more proof, witness this video put together by a gentleman who is running for Junior Yell Leader.
Big 12 Recruiting Roundup: Texas A&M 1 comment
The Aggies made a nice haul on signing day, one that was very competitive with the one by Texas. Eleven of their 24 recruits received a four-star rating from either Rivals.com or Scout.com. The class is balanced and addresses every position on the board. Only a single recruit comes from the junior college ranks.
Big 12 State of the Union: Texas A&M 8 comments
“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. If that truism rings…well, true then Texas A&M is doomed. The Aggies essentially Xeroxed the Steve Pederson Big 12 football blueprint and are now expecting the same strategy to produce a different result.
Did Nebraska Win By Losing? 22 comments
Nebraska's loss to Texas A&M all but ended Nebraska's hopes of salvaging the season. Sure, a 5 or 6 game winning streak at this point would make things look brighter for the future of both the current coaching staff and the program overall, but oddsmakers might handicap that kind of run at 100 to 1 at this point.
Sizing Up A&M 0 comments
The Aggies look pretty typical of a Big 12 team in terms of size offensively. They've got a couple of tall wideouts but mostly just around 6'. They've got big backs and small backs. Their tight ends are built more like long fullbacks than small offensive tackles or big wideouts. And of course they can go big or small in the backfield with the 206-pound Mike Goodson or the 268-pound Javorskie Lane.
Huskers Have History of Bouncing Back Against A&M 14 comments
The Huskers have been needing a get well game going on two weeks now. If history is any indicator A&M is a pretty good team to be playing this week. Nebraska is playing A&M for only thirteenth time ever and after twelve games between the schools the Huskers hold a 10-2 advantage in the series. Beyond the historical edge of simply beating A&M, Nebraska has had a history of beating the Aggies after suffering a loss.
2007 Opponent Preview…Texas A&M 20 comments
When you think how close the Aggies came to a perfect regular season and look at their perfect road record (excluding the bowl game) it's easy to be concerned about what might happen in Lincoln. But as close as the Aggies were to glory, they were also close to disaster. They won their game against Missouri by six points, their game at Texas by five points, their game at Army by four points, their game at Kansas by three points, and their game at Oklahoma State by a point in overtime.
Thoughts on Texas A&M…WAY After the Fact 15 comments

Big Red Network's loyal readers know my habit is to post my after-game thoughts Sunday or Monday morning at the very latest. This week - in the wake of NU's biggest win of the season, no less - my posting took a back seat to a number of things. They included: 1) A hangover. ("Honey, we won. Call the sitter. We're going out!") 2) Family obligations, hey new car seats don't exactly purchase themselves, and 3) actual work. I know you all love BRN. But, it's not exactly paying the bills. We bloggers have day jobs that sometimes interfere with our posting duties. Anyway, hopefully it is not too late to offer these thoughts on an enormous win for the Huskers. And, I'll try to keep from pounding home the same points you have no doubt read in the papers. That's just how BRN rolls.
A&M gets Purified 6 comments
We called it. The Huskers went to Purify when they needed a touchdown to take the lead in the last minute of the game.

Weather forecast for Nebraska vs. Texas A&M 0 comments
I am looking forward to a great game Saturday in College Station and an even better football forecast. Thunderstorms are possible both Friday and Sunday but game day will feature immaculate weather for the third straight week.
Mostly sunny skies will greet the Huskers to hostile Kyle Field -- home of the 12th Man. Temperatures will be in the low 70s at kickoff, dropping to the mid 60s by the game's end. Wind will be out of the North at 10 to 20 mph early in the day, switching to the east and relaxing as the day moves on.

For the Record 1 comment
I ruffled some feathers in Aggieland when I used the term "mobile home" heavily in a preseason preview of A&M. To avoid any further hard feelings in the final run-up to the big game Saturday, I'd just like to set the record straight about a few things.

I'm headed to Sin City this weekend for a buddy's bachelor party. They say "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". In my case, it's been mostly money that I've left behind. But as a Husker fan, is there some way to turn my losing ways into a big win for the Huskers on Saturday?

Sizing Up the Aggies 3 comments
Texas A&M is a big team. They have a big offensive line, a big defensive line and two big linebackers. But the beef they have on the lines pales when compared to what they're packing at tailback.
Why Saturday’s Game Matters More Than Most 3 comments
In coach speak, any team's most important game is "the next game you are playing". That is absolutely true, especially now in an age when you can't overlook any opponenet. So, Texas A&M being Nebraska's next game dictates that it is the most important one so far. In case that isn't enough motivation, I took the liberty of spelling out a few more reason why this game is huge for the Huskers.
“Mobile Home Key Words at Texas A&M 39 comments
Previewing Texas A&M
Facing the Aggies in College Station is never easy. Texas A&M has a long tradition of giving teams trouble in their stadium. In 1998, the Aggies ended Nebraska's 19 game win streak when the Huskers came to town. Mobile quarterbacks are no picnic either. Even in the best of times (like Nebraska's five-year 60-3 run in the mid 1990's), mobile quarterbacks have given the Husker's fits. Charlie Ward, Jake Plummer, James Brown, and Corby Jones were all quarterbacks who managed to lead their team to victory (or near victory) against those storied Husker teams. Stephen McGee, Texas A&M's sophomore quarterback, is as mobile as they come, averaging 5.5 yards rushing a year ago. With the “Mobile Home factors in full effect, the Huskers take the November 11 visit to College Station lightly at their peril.
