RE: Running Game Wont Just Be RexFeb 22nd, 2012
Baker Steinkuhler was a 5 Star Offensive Tackle...not Defensive Tackle...so that argument is invalid. Jared Crick - 3 Star 5.6 rating - pretty good; great with N. Suh Ndamukong Suh - 4 Star 6.0 rating - Amazing So those supports the "star rating" argument I will give you credit for Roy …more »

I can't find any video of Mike Marrow from high school (outside of rivals.com), so here is a video of him from rivals.com. http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-football/Mike-Marrow-Highlights-1-9096 I wonder how much time he will split with CJ Zimmerer...he's been there longer than Mike Marrow and was a 3 star as well. Here's a video …more »
RE: Running Game Wont Just Be RexFeb 21st, 2012
I'm not denying he had "one heck of a 'true' freshm(a)n season". I'm just saying that he doesn't seem dependable enough because he fumbles the ball too often. i.e. Wisconsin, South Carolina (inside the goal line on a drive that possibly lost us the game), and Michigan. That's way too many …more »
RE: Running Game Wont Just Be RexFeb 20th, 2012
Good...Abdullah fumbles the ball too often. I'm not one to be pessimistic but I honestly think Abdullah will be one of those players who kind of just exploded onto the scene (so to speak) and doesn't really do anything after that...I'm probably wrong...and I hope I am, but I think we …more »

RE: Looking Ahead: Big Ten Recruiting 2013Feb 10th, 2012
I've been looking into a lot of these highly touted recruits. Nebraska actually has a better chance at landing many of them than other schools do. Priest Willis' dad is a HUGE Husker fan. And has a family friend who trains him that is a former Blackshirt (Toby Wright). Su'a Cravens …more »

RE: Tipping Points May Be Tipping NU's WayJan 10th, 2012
Johnny_Nebraska Very good points. However, I'm afraid the Husker fanbase will not be so kind. I believe Bo Pelini needs to win at least 10 games next year. I'm not sure about a B1G championship/appearance due to the possibility that Michigan could potentially be VERY good next year and be a …more »

michikehn: I would have 7 guys in the box, and hold your secondary (2 safeties and two CB's) back into a zone coverage. Michigan's best chance is to force Nebraska to pass the ball and in obvious pass situations force Taylor Martinez to execute his reads and pass accurately. To stop …more »

@LansingCat: Great point. I don't know why this is an issue either. However, it does seem that there is less "passion" about this argument because I think people are getting sick of arguing about it. But yeah, I don't know why abc keeps doing the "NW". Nebraska is always "NEB" anyway. …more »
RE: Conversation about Nebraska-WisconsinSep 29th, 2011
I agree. I think special teams will be a huge factor in Nebraska's favor this week. Expect Abdullah to break for a couple big runs. If he can take it to the house, that's 1 TD, a couple long runs past the 50 and 1 solid 1st down later, they've automatically …more »

RE: Martinez Grows Up As Huskers Pull Away From Fresno StateSep 11th, 2011
I completely agree with the starting off slow and getting better situation. Last year was the wrong way to do it. Do everything right and continue to get better. Fundamentals, fundamentals. Execution, execution. Fundamentals, fundamentals. Execution, execution. The offensive line seems to be just spinning their motor and not attacking. But …more »
RE: Martinez Grows Up As Huskers Pull Away From Fresno StateSep 11th, 2011
I was at the game. The refs missed at least 5 holding penalties by Fresno State. And I say at least because they were BLATANT. That had something to do with it to. Their QB played very smart and the offense was very conservative. I worry about this for teams like …more »

I gotta agree with OU7times on this one. I don't see it happening. Any of that stuff about OU asking.
RE: What to Watch For Saturday Against Fresno StateSep 8th, 2011
My prediction: Less option. More RB handoffs. Some Play-action and a lot of Deep Balls. Really Taylor should've had about 12-15 completions of his 22 attempts. But everything was quick and around 5-15 yards from the line of scrimmage. Fresno State will be very intent on stopping the option after their …more »
RE: Game Day Pocket Guide for Fresno StateSep 8th, 2011
That and the laid back, sarcastic sense of humor of this site shows in that caption. But nevermind that shit (anyone?), I think this will be a bit like last year's Washington game. A big offensive battle. Nebraska being disappointed in itself and trying to flex its muscles. Fresno State also …more »
RE: What We Know NowAug 31st, 2011
Oh ok. Thanks, guys. I live in Omaha (the 402). I've just never really payed too much/enough attention to Western Nebraska's 308. When he said "reppin' the 308" I thought about weightlifting. Haha so it just kinda confused me.
RE: Cameron Meredith on CultureAug 31st, 2011
*Hairs sticking up, goosebumps producing, eyes in awe, etc.* This makes me SO happy. Even if they lose a game this year I just like the sound of the old Nebraska tradition...granted losing A game is not "the old Nebraska tradition". But hey. Who cares?
RE: What We Know NowAug 30th, 2011
I may be the only person who doesn't know, but what is "the 308"?
RE: Circling October 1Aug 26th, 2011
Great article and great analysis. I could not agree anymore with the "Texas game being to built up for the players" part. If the team really does learn (has learned) to just try to dominate each team no matter how bad/good they are, they should do well.
RE: Starling signs with RoyalsAug 16th, 2011

RE: Nebraska and Iowa to Play for HardwareJul 27th, 2011
I think the most centric name they could call this is the Missouri River Trophy...that seems to be the most generic and centric "element" between these teams...no one has said it (as far as I have researched/seen) but I think it would be a good one.
RE: Nebraska and Iowa to Play for HardwareJul 27th, 2011
Landon410 That was on a ESPN blog from those tradition contests. It was said by oaknightshockey1...he was pretty cool and we're friends on ESPN now. And I humorously agree that we should decide it by that haha.

That's a very good point, Jim. That's another thing about why I really think the 1995 Nebraska team is better than the 2001 team (among various others). Average score of 2001 Miami team W 42.7-9.8 (32.9) (4.36) Average score of 1995 Nebraska team W 53.2-14.5 (38.7) (3.67) But since the 2nd …more »

I definitely agree with that James Moore. Particularly with the NU/UM matchup. That's going to cause a lot of intensity for deciding the Legends Division champion. But both programs have something to prove, so we'll have to see.
RE: National Championship Odds Long for Big Ten TeamsJul 9th, 2011
Hahaha. Great quote Huskerfaithful...but odds are somewhat informative when you compare them to other people. I hate to say it but I agree with these odds. Why? Because just about every single one of these teams is quite capable (some not as likely - haha (another odd)) of winning the B1G. …more »

I completely agree RH0. That power running game could kill us. And if Nebraska doesn't hold it like they showed weaknesses last year a little bit, it will be an eye-opener to the B1G. They would know exactly how to beat us on defense. I know this isn't the most encouraging …more »

I'll believe it when I see it. But let's just say it's true for the time being. I like how we have plenty of depth in the backfield. However, since runningbacks get the 2nd most attention on offense after I wonder if we'll ever have plays with more than one runningback …more »

RE: Coach Search 2011: 2/9 updateFeb 10th, 2011
I think that Tim Beck would be a great Offensive Coordinator. Why? Because he knows how to work with players to work with the O-Line, find holes, and he will be more apt to mix up the offense/plays.
