I read that 10.39 and thought "damn that kid is fast." Then I read your corrected 11.0 and thought "wow, i was a lot faster than that kid." 10.39 seconds wins you a D1 scholarship for the 100m ANYWHERE. 11.0 lets you place third in a half-decent Class A invitational meet. …more »

Speaking of that big October schedule, has anyone heard any updates on Will Compton? It would be nice to have him back next to Lavonte David for the more physical Big XXII schedule. No disrespect to Gomes, but he is at a serious disadvantage against the run when used at LB. …more »
RE: Close win likely better than a blowoutSep 27th, 2010
BigArmyDude, It wouldn't matter if Texas doesn't win the rest of the year. If N wins the conference, you can bet on N being in the title game. The championship game win would seal the deal. No matter whom they beat, it will have been a quality extra win.
RE: Huskers Sluggish in 17-3 Win over South Dakota StateSep 26th, 2010
@Robert Just to be clear, I am not advocating that Lee actually be the guy in these weaker games. That is insane. I was just raising the question for discussion, as it seemed interesting.
RE: Huskers Sluggish in 17-3 Win over South Dakota StateSep 26th, 2010
So here is a crazy thought... If a healthy Zac Lee had been the starter, would N have won by a much greater margin? Keep in mind that I think the right guy currently has the job. Martinez can make plays for N with his feet and provides explosiveness that can't …more »

RE: Reputation GameSep 14th, 2010
I don't see Locker doing anything that Big Red can't handle. The lockdown corners for basically make everything impossible to manage in the passing game. Yeah Tom, I agree. That was one of the things I hated about Lee running the zone read. Every time contact was going to happen, it looked awkward and tentative. He looked like an injury waiting to happen.
RE: Mobile Martinez Fits Right In to Big TenSep 14th, 2010

Rich Kaipust: "Nebraska has rushed for 289 and 360 yards in its first two games. It’s the first back-to-back games of 250-plus yards rushing since the start of the 2006 season -- 252 vs. Louisiana Tech and 261 vs. Nicholls State." I, personally, would trade 300 yards of passing for 250 …more »
