This bar is tucked up next to the scenic Presidio. You should be able to find street parking near by. It's owned by a Nebraska native. You'll find lots of friendly faces there. Just eat before the game. They don't offer food except for frozen pizza.
RE: Beckett’s Public HouseSep 2nd, 2011
A classy joint with good bar food. There aren't a lot of good places to stand during the game, so get there early to find a table. It'll fill up.
RE: KirkwoodSep 2nd, 2011
A nice, newer bar in a nice Chicago neighborhood. They have good bar food and plenty of TVs. It gets packed on game days though, so plan to be there at least an hour before game time or be prepared to stand.

RE: Weather Forecast for Nebraska vs MissouriOct 3rd, 2008
Looks like the TGIF happy hour started early this week. For the record, I screwed up the headline and put Colorado instead of Missou. I'm not sure what that says about my subconscious, but I'll discuss it with my alter-ego.

Thanks Jon. I forgot to point out that you guys also have some good sideline photos at Corn Nation. Can't get enough of those photos!
RE: Huskers, Fans Should Not Concede DefeatOct 2nd, 2008
Steve, to your point, the home team has won in each of the last six meetings. So it appears home field counts for something. Let's hope it's enough.
RE: Game Day Pocket Guide for MissouriOct 1st, 2008
You are correct sir. Someone should call NU SID and let them know too, because they got it wrong in their game notes. (That's where I got my info.) My apologies. I made the correction. Good catch!
RE: Join us for a Virginia Tech pregame partySep 26th, 2008
OU, in fact we already donate 5% of our t-shirt proceeds to NU. But, you guys are going to have to step up and buy some more shirts if we're going to put a dent in those contract buy-outs. :) Thanks BNA. We'll throw one back for you.

Good question Jeremy. No. 58 for WMU is their backup right guard on their o-line, so either they're both on special teams or Suh was just propping himself up at #58's expense. :) I guess I just got so excited to see what might be a real-live pancake after all these …more »

Nice data Tom. I'm a sucker for a good graph. OU7Times, don't expect the trend of non-conference cupcakes to end until strength of schedule is a meaningful component of the BCS.

RE: Reality Check or Coach Speak?Aug 27th, 2008
I agree Cal4Huskers. I listened to yesterday's press conference and Bo came across as a straight talker. One "journalist" asked him why he was wearing a blue shirt. Bo said, "I don't know. It's just a press conference. Didn't think it was a big deal."

OU7Times, I would guess that virtually every bar in downtown Lincoln will have the game on. Try Barry's near the stadium or Brewsky's in the Haymarket.
RE: Reality Check or Coach Speak?Aug 26th, 2008
It is also interesting that Bo hasn't handed out Black Shirts yet. I think he's sending a message to the players about the importance of the Black Shirt tradition. It's not a right, but a privilege. And when he does give them out, they'll mean that much more. Should we start …more »

RE: A Husker Fan's Sunday Morning Thought ProcessOct 9th, 2007
Anyone notice the "Humor" label applied to this post? I don't disagree that the Huskers are bad this year. I was merely trying (apparently unsuccessfully) to make light of the knee jerk "FIRE [INSERT NAME]!" comments I have heard after the last four games. There will be plenty of time for …more »

Maury, I just double checked that the schedule calendar is set to CDT. (The Nevada game shows kickoff at 2:30 CDT which should be right.) I'm not sure why it would be off by an hour for you. Oh, and I just added the Big 12 Championship Game. I like to …more »
RE: Add the 2007 Husker Football Schedule to your CalendarJul 19th, 2007
You're right Maury. I just updated the instructions and added a button to dynamically subscribe to the Husker schedule. If you use Google Calendar, your calendar will be automatically updated when future game times are announced. Not sure why I didn't do that to begin with. :)
RE: Add the 2007 Husker Football Schedule to your CalendarJul 19th, 2007
Hi Maury, Thanks! I'm glad you find this useful. The calendar is *not* dynamic, so unfortunately game times will not dynamically appear in your Outlook or iCal calendar. RE: Corey Young’s Departure Hard to GaugeJun 19th, 2007
Don't take it so personally Allen. I don't think it is any secret that ISU has struggled recently on the recruiting front. But you've got a new coach now and reason to be optimistic. Why don't you go read Steve's review of ISU's recruiting class (which I think was quite balanced) …more »
RE: Quarterback Most Important PlayerJun 11th, 2007

Couldn't agree more Mark. The Tigers won't be taking this one lightly (like they did last year when they lost to a lower ranked Wisconsin). I think you'll see a well prepared Husker team for this game. They'll be angry from the OU loss and if you give Callahan a month …more »
